Bob Lotich provides excellent information in his eBook, Make money blogging. I especially like that he tried his suggestions and had proven success before writing this book. I’ve been blogging since 2011 and I’m still learning. One of the most important things, according to Lotich (and I can see why), is that a blogger should be open to learning new things.
This e-book is somewhat short, but it contains a lot of valuable information. Lotich writes in a short and direct way, which I like, especially when I read these kinds of books. Lotich also offers a Blogging 101 course for those new to running a WordPress blog. He also provides the first basic steps for starting a blog, including finding a domain name, finding a web hosting package, and installing WordPress.
Lotich offers good advice through his personal, relevant and honest experiences and opinions. He provides up-to-date websites to help a new (or seasoned) blogger in various fields. He explains the information in a way that is easy for non-programmers to understand.
Just some of the ideas Lotich offers include:
- Submitting articles to other sites – there are of course a few ways to do this. I use EzineArticles and GoArticles which are just two of the sites he suggests. (By the way, WordPress has a plugin for EzineArticles, but there isn’t one for GoArticles).
- Affiliate Product Sales – I looked at this a long time ago, but I’m considering rethinking this idea.
- Joining a directory – I just started looking at this (and the sites it suggests).
- Advertisements – although I was against advertisements when I started my blog I added them but I have not seen any real income from them. Lotich offers suggestions to make these advertisements more effective. I’ve implemented these suggestions… I’ll see if they’re more effective now in the coming months.
- Add specific plugins or widgets to improve site features and usability.
After implementing and using some of the practices and companies he has used and suggested, I recommend this (free) ebook (available on Kindle) to anyone interested in, just starting to blog or already blogging. .
The next book in his series is Pro Blog Secrets: Strategies, Tips and Answers You Need to Grow Your Blog and Earn More, which can be purchased through the Kindle for $6.99. I haven’t read this book yet, so I can’t say anything about the quality, but whether it’s a reflection of Make money bloggingI expect it to be fine.
